just plain fun stuff (shop in your PJs!)

Yes, I really have shopped at all these places--and received outstanding service. Of course I can't guarantee that your experience will be the same, but I thought feature these particular products here would be a lot of fun to anyone interested in a little retail therapy. Treat yourself--and enjoy.

Adagio Teas   Writing a letter is a great chance to relax. Before you sit down to write, make yourself a cup of tea. The ingenuiTEA pot works like a charm, straining all the tea leaves and serving up a great cup of fresh tea.

Circle Journey   Featured in the December 2004 issue of Just Write, Circle Journey correspondence kits are great ways to share mail with friends and relatives. They make wonderful gifts and priceless keepsakes.

Pendemonium   Pendemonium sells Clairefontaine stationery. It is unbelievably smooth and a pleasure to write with, no matter what kind of pen you prefer. Best of all, even the lined paper looks great so you can write with ease and not have to worry about wandering around the page aimlessly.

russell+hazel   When you want to be organized and have everything look good, you can't beat this stuff.

The Daily Planner   Quo Vadis makes a great monthly calendar--a difficult thing to find, I've discovered; it's called the Monthly 4. The Daily Planner also sells Filofax products and Exacompta--their calendars all feature the little tear-off tabs on each page so it's easy to find your place. The Daily Pocket makes a nice journal.

Uncommon Goods The Correspondence Kit, with its witty supply of check-off boxes and fill-in-the-blank letters, have been a huge hit. They also sell stationery and envelopes made out of maps--nice.

        Nadine Bozek                                                                                                    Happy Spirit Cards

About Nadine Bozek

I started making Happy Spirit cards to fill a niche. I was making a lot of hand made books and cards, and I enjoyed gluing “library pockets” in the front and back of the cards, but I had nothing interesting to put into them, so I started designing my own wallet size quote cards.

I enjoy the combination of visual art with the written word. To me, art is a way to both transcend and record life. I am intrigued with small gestures: the quiet, reflective gaze of a young girl, the furrowed eyebrow of a woman reading a good book, the joyful abandon of a boy running through the lawn sprinkler on a hot summer day. As an artist, I love to record these little moments that might otherwise be lost amongst the broader spectrum. I love how art can help us appreciate things we might otherwise overlook. I think strong art helps us to see and think in new ways.

I have taught art to children, worked as an interior designer, a chef, and most recently as a digital enhancement artist for a photographer.

I believe in sunlight on the side of a house, chamomile tea, and the color fuchsia.
